Alashi Foundation is a registered society in Nagaland, India (Reg. no. HOME/SRC-7848). Our website address is alashifoundation.org. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect and why

• Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so that we can reply to you.
• Alashi’s Basket requests. Your name, your relationship to the baby, your phone number and email, the baby’s name and date of birth, the parent’s name, phone number, language and delivery address, and anything you choose to tell us. We use this only to deliver the basket and to stay in touch with the family if they want us to.
• Updates sign-up. Your name and email address, so that we can send occasional news from the foundation.
• Events. If you register for an event, the details you give us for that event.
• Photographs. We only publish photographs of children and families with their permission, and we remove them on request.

Comments and media

If comments are enabled on an article, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from uploaded images.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for your convenience; these last one year. If you have an account and log in, cookies store your login and screen preferences: login cookies last two days, screen option cookies one year, and “Remember me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes them.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited that website directly. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share basket request details only with the volunteer parent who delivers the basket, and only what they need for that visit. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for as long as we need them to reply and follow up, and deleted after two years. Basket request records are kept while we are in touch with the family, and deleted when they ask us to stop. Updates sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be approved automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. This does not include data we must keep for administrative, legal or security reasons. Write to info@alashifoundation.org and we will reply within 30 days.
