Our story

Alashi Foundation was established out of love, courage and a deeply personal journey. It is inspired by our daughter Alashi, a joyful young child with Down syndrome and a resilient heart. As parents, our journey has been one of continual learning, unlearning and growth.

Through Alashi we have come to recognise that every child is unique, capable and inherently deserving of dignity, acceptance and opportunity. At the same time, we have observed significant gaps in awareness, understanding and support within our communities.

The foundation seeks to address these gaps by fostering awareness about Down syndrome, promoting inclusive practices and encouraging society to embrace diversity with compassion and respect. We firmly believe that meaningful change begins when stigma is replaced with understanding, and fear with acceptance.

More than an organisation, Alashi Foundation is a movement, driven by love and guided by a vision of a more inclusive society where every child is valued and celebrated for who they are. Together we strive to break barriers, cultivate empathy and build a world where inclusion is not an exception but the norm.
